What is the criteria for admission to the 5 year/3 year Law Course? Is there any entrance test?

GLC does NOT conduct an entrance exam and admissions are secured on the basis of Std. 12 results (in case of the 5 year law course) and Graduation results (in case of the 3 year law course). Admission to the 5 year/3 year course is purely on the basis of merit.

What is the difference between the 5 Year (B.L.S., LL.B) & 3 Year Course (LL.B)?

The 5 Year Course is designed for students who have cleared their 12th Board examination and wish to pursue law as a profession. The 5 Years are divided into 2 years of Pre-Law, followed by 3 years LL.B. The course has a total of 10 semesters and the degree conferred at the end of 5 years is B.L.S. (Bachelor of Legal Sciences), LL.B.

The 3 Year Course is ONLY for students who have completed their graduation (For eg. BA, BCom, BSc, etc.) from any recognized University. It is 6 semester LL.B. program.

Are students of Boards and Universities other than the Maharashtra Board & University of Mumbai eligible for admission to the 5 year & 3 year course? Is the procedure any different?

Yes, students from any Board (such as C.B.S.E., I.S.C., etc.) recognized by the University of Mumbai are eligible for admission. The procedure for admission is not different. However, the cut-off percentage for students other than Maharashtra Board is 5% higher than it is for students of Maharashtra Board.

Do the cut-off percentages for different streams (i.e. Science, Commerce, Arts) vary?

Yes. Since, the number of seats for each stream is FIXED, the cut-off percentage for Science, Commerce & Arts streams (for the 5 Year Course) and BSc, B.Com & BA (for the 3 year course) vary on the basis of applications received.

When will the admission forms for the 5 year Law Course be available?

The admission forms for the 5 year Law Course will be available on this website & the college office shortly. However, the admission process will begin only after the declaration of the 12th Std. HSC Maharashtra Board Results. (Tentatively towards the end of May).

When will the admission forms for the 3 year Law Course be available?

The admission forms for the 3 year Law Course will be available on this website & the college office shortly. However, the admission process will begin only after the declaration of graduation results by the University of Mumbai. (Tentatively towards the beginning of June).

Does GLC offer an LL.M. Course?
GLC does NOT offer an LL.M. Course. However, it does offer Post Graduate Diploma Courses such as the Securities Law Course, PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights & PG Diploma in Human Rights
When will the application forms for the Human Rights Course/ IPR Course/ Cyber Law Course be available?

The prospectus and the dates of distribution and submission of application forms for the Human Rights Course/ IPR Course/ Cyber Law Course will be available on the website under the section 'Notices' once the same have been declared.

When will the application forms for the Securities Law Course be available?

Admission process for the year 2011-2012 is complete.
Application forms for the year 2012-2013 will be available in May 2012.
